Established in 2019, the Broad River Business Alliance brings businesses, residents, and community partners together to strengthen the Broad River District. What began as an effort to unify businesses along Broad River Road has grown into a community organization serving a 16-square-mile district of more than 40,000 residents in Richland County.
Founded by Javar Juarez with the support of local business owners, neighbors, and stakeholders, BRBA connects business development with community well-being. We work with city, county, and state partners to advocate for neighborhood protections, support small businesses, respond to emergencies, and help residents access essential resources.
We believe a thriving business district begins with a thriving community. Through business connections, direct assistance, volunteer service, and persistent advocacy, we help create the conditions for local businesses to take root and grow. Our work also means listening to residents, addressing everyday concerns, and pressing for accountability when decisions or business practices affect our neighborhoods.
